Sugar for Exfoliation of the Skin

It is important to include exfoliation when you have decided on skin care. When you overlook this step your skin tends to get a feeling of congestion. Exfoliation offers a feeling of freedom with all the dirt and grime along with the dead skin peeled off. You need to be aware that over a period of time when you have neglected your skin, this becomes a breeding ground for different types of bacteria and you face multiple skin problems. Exfoliating is scrubbing the outer most layer of the skin with all the grime and letting a fresh layer of skin make you fresh and beautiful.

The best exfoliator agents can be found in your kitchen. Instead of hunting different stores for the appropriate exfoliator, it is advisable to look into your kitchen shelves.

Sugar as an Exfoliator:

What is required for a good exfoliator is a substance which is grainy and abrasive which can scrub away all the dirt and grime. Sugar is one ingredient which has all the properties of a good exfoliating agent but these needs to be combined with an emollient to prevent the drying of the skin.

Sugar is humectants which help in moisturizing the skin with the help of the moisture from the air and pumping the same into the skin. The presence of Glycol acid in sugar delays the ageing process and also protects the skin from different types of damage. Considered to be the ‘perfect’ exfoliator, sugar cleanses the skin of all the bacteria and dirt and regeneration is promoted. As compared to any salt scrub, a sugar scrub is gentler and thus works well for skin which is sensitive.

This sugar scrub can be used to cleanse the whole body and not just the face and neck. This works well for any type of skin, be it oily, dry or even sensitive.
