Add 20 grams of ginger to a cup of hot water and let it brew for some time before you sip on this. For the required taste you can add some lemon juice or even honey.

Steam is helpful in the treatment of wet cough, which produces mucus or phlegm. A hot water bath or shower can ease this cough especially if you are exposed to this steam for a few minutes. To avoid dehydration you can then drink a glass of water.

You can even make a stem bowl by adding some essential oils or herbs in a bowl of hot water. Place a towel on your head and inhale the stem by leaning over this bowl. The vapor needs to be inhaled for a minimum of 5 minutes.

Salt water gargles is one of the best home remedies for a wet cough and also a sore throat. This can reduce the mucus and the phlegm which is at the back of the throat.

Take half a cup of warm water and stir half a teaspoon of salt in this. Let this mixture cool a little bit before you gargle with this. Ensure this mixture remains at the back of the throat for a few minutes before spitting it out.

Thyme is one remedy for not only cough, but also for digestive issues, bronchitis and sore throat. The antioxidants present in this help thyme to be an effective home remedy. Add Thyme which is dried to a cup of hot water. Let this steep for around 10 minutes before you drink it.

Mix 2 teaspoons of honey either to herbal tea or warm water for the required relief in coughs. This mixture can be consumed twice a day for maximum benefits.
