Corona Virus Symptoms:
The Novel Corona Virus has becomes a global health issue from the time this was first reported in December 2019 from Wuhan, China. After assessing the outbreaks for 24 hours till date, the WHO (World health Organization) has declared this a pandemic. You need to know that never has a corona virus sparked a pandemic.
The COVID – 19 (corona virus infection) has caused a lot of panic globally. Research has proved that people can spread this disease without even showing any symptoms.
Symptoms of the Corona Virus:
COVID – 19, caused by the virus is fatal to a specific percentage of the people. This disease is caused by a group of viruses known as the corona virus. According to the CDC there are around three main symptoms of the COVID – 19. These are cough, fever and shortness of breath, which are very similar to the symptoms of flu.
These symptoms can appear within 2 days of exposure or even after 14 days. As mentioned, there are many people who do not indicate any signs or symptoms of this disease. The circulation of the virus is through the droplets in the air spread by sneezing or coughing. This enters the body through the nose, eyes or the mouth. This virus can also enter the lungs directly when inhaled.
The main symptoms of this COVID – 19 are
- Shortness of breath
- Cough (this can be any kind)
- Fever
- Difficulty in breathing.
Other symptoms include headaches, fatigue, sore throat and pains. The Health care authorities have advised on self-isolation for anyone with the above mentioned symptoms for a period of 14 days.
Prevention for Corona Virus:
There are certain steps to be followed so that this COVID – 19 can be avoided.
- Washing your Hands Often:
You need to wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds as often as you can. This is more important when you have sneezed, coughed or gone to a public place. If water and soap is not available you can use a sanitizer with a minimum of 60% alcohol content. It is safer not to touch your nose, eyes or mouth with hands that are unwashed.
- Avoiding Close Contact:
Keep a safe distance from people who are sick. This works both ways. It can protect others if you have a cough or a cold and also protect you from the others suffering from the flu like symptoms.
- Cover your Mouth while Sneezing and Coughing:
Use the inside of your elbow when you sneeze or cough or better still, use a tissue paper and discard this after use. Wash your hands with soap and water.
- Clean and Disinfect Surfaces:
Be strict about cleaning surfaces which are frequently used. This includes tabletops, door knobs, phones, desks, toilets, faucets and so on.
To stop spreading the COVID – 19 each one of us need to take the required precautions and inform the doctor if you have any of the symptoms. Before visiting the clinic it is important to call the doctor and inform him/her of the symptoms.
